Cannabis Odor Control Plan
Controlling cannabis odors and external air quality is almost impossible from a practical standpoint. It's a very stinky plant! That said, just about every jurisdiction, and especially the neighbors around planned production facilities are concerned about this issue. Almost every time one of my clients has gone to the town council meetings for public comment on their projects, difficult neighbors show up to complain about how much they will suffer from the odors emitted from any nearby cannabis project.
I happen to love the smell of cannabis and wish everyone could enjoy it as much as I do, but unfortunately we must make accommodations to those who disagree in order to obtain and maintain our licenses. That's where this Odor Control/Air Quality Plan comes in. You need a plan for how you will contain and control odors, in addition to procedures for checking around the perimeter of the facility each week and receiving and processing complaints.
This Cannabis Odor Control Plan contains every topic we've ever heard of for how to design odor controls into your facility, how to contain certain high odor-emitting activities and how to accommodate concerns from outside observers. This Marijuana Air Quality Plan has been used to overcome objections and obtain cannabis license approval at community meetings!
