This 37-page Cannabis Business Employee Handbook is one of our first post-license documents. It is, in effect, your Human Resources Policy Guide for operating your cannabusiness. It tells your employees what they may and may not do on the job, and outlines policies for vacation, sick leave, workplace computer use, employee harassment and violence and much more.

Cannabis Business Employee Handbook
Many of you who are reading this page are just getting into the cannabis business. Some of you, however, are already in it and beginning to encounter problems with human resources. Businesses of any kind need to have clearly documented policies for employee freedoms, restrictions and problematic behaviors. Without your rules thought through, well taught to staff and consistently applied, you will eventually get sued by a disgruntled employee.
The best way to deal with the early stages and aftermath of an employee problem is with clearly documented rules, processes, warnings and associated record keeping. The policies in your Employee Handbook give you written, universal justifications for any kind of behavioral norms you have to enforce . The records kept of these enforcement actions can then serve as evidence to defend yourself if a worker takes legal action. The general policies, therefore, in the Employee Handbook must be consistent with State and Federal Law.
This Marijuana Employee Handbook is technically a template, but it is thoroughly researched, completely filled in with useful information, and contains standard policies that apply in a general sense too all cannabis-legal US States and countries around the world. You can customize it freely to match your specific circumstances.
