This 10-page Cannabis Remediation Plan Template addresses how flower and derivative product material, such as extracted oil, will be treated if it initially fails lab passage requirements. Most jurisdictions will allow the opportunity to repair contaminated product before discarding it, in case it can be further purified or sterilized.

Written with California Regulations in mind, this plan can be retooled for any jurisdiction. Note that the Appendices are quoted regulatory text, thus the cost of this plan is based solely on the 10-page count of original text that comes before the Appendices.

Disclaimer: This is a template that will be delivered to you as an editable MS Word doc. It's filled in with great information, but is NOT location specific. We've done 90% of the heavy lifting, and the last 10% is up to you and your compliance expert.

Hi, I'm Jennifer Martin, the creator of this website and a veteran commercial grower and cultivation consultant. My colleague and I created these operating plan documents to help cannabis business operators legitimize and streamline their operations. With hundreds of satisfied customers under our belts, we are certain that we've got the best starter templates for cannabis operators available online.

Unlike other cannabis websites, this business is owner operated and I personally stand behind the quality of the available products and services.

Cannabis Remediation Plan

Both cannabis cultivation and cannabis manufacturing companies run into problems with product contamination. Cannabis plants can be contaminated by something that was sprayed on them during the cultivation process, something their roots absorbed from water or grow media, or by mold, bacteria or yeast that developed on the surface as the plants were drying or being stored.

For now, in most places, the required level of purity or sterilization of cannabis flowers and derivative products is very high in comparison to other consumable products such as tobacco or food crops. This means growers and manufacturer's must be vigilant about keeping their facilities, plants and products clean, but also have a plan for how THC and CBD material will be treated if contamination is found. The various processes that are widely used for flower material are ozone and irradiation, where for extracted cannabis oil, dilution and further purification are more common.

This plan does not teach growers and extractors how to remediate contaminated cannabis, but it gives you the framework by which to document your remediation processes so you can prove to your regulating authority that you have plans and protocols in place. You can show before and after test results, identify your chosen lab used for testing, include copies of your jurisdiction's remediation standards, and specify the standards by which you plan to assess decontaminated flower material.
